6th grade Trees from below
6th graders learned about a unique form of perspective called "Ant's Eye" perspective. The concept of viewing something from below and looking up can be tricky. I was impressed how well the students grasped this idea and drew it out. They painted between their tree trunks with different values of blue paint. Then the added the color and texture of the tree trunks with different brown oil pastel colors. Last they added leaves with their finger prints!
6th grade Metal Embossed Masks
6th grade is taking on this ambitious metal mask project! They first had to design a unique symmetrical shape for the mask. Next, they divided the mask into sections that they would later add repetition into for detail. They transferred the design to the metal using embossing tools. The last step will be adding color with sharpie. This is a long term project, but I had to show off their progress!
